Dr. Royal Samuel Copeland (1868-1938), Dean of New York Homeopathic Medical College

Please meet U.S. Senator, Dr. Royal Samuel Copeland (1868-1938), Dean of New York Homeopathic Medical College, and Commissioner of Board of Health in New York City. He was a successful Homeopathic physician and politician who represented New York in the senate from 1923 until 1938.

Dr. Copeland gained fame and positive public attention for keeping New Yorkers calm during the influenza outbreak of 1918. He also served as President of the Michigan Homeopathic Society; and President of American Institute of Homeopathy. He was a professor at the University of Michigan – Medical School’s Homeopathic Department from 1895 until 1908.
